Mary Did You Know, is one of my very favorite songs. I've always wanted to sing it and finally got my chance this year. The piano music is my sister Jennifer. She recorded the soundtrack for me during the week of Thanksgiving when she came in. I thought she did a fantastic job.

I love this picture. I took this with my Blackberry one evening at church. It was just before Christmas and Barbara was teaching the children some new songs. They sounded really good when they sang them too!
I wish our church had more little children. It just seems to bring more life into the church. I'm praying that God will send some new families our way that have small children.

It is Monday the morning after. Our cantata has been sang and the Christmas play is now over. Both services were spectacular! I'm always very nervous leading up to any performance, wondering if things will go smoothly or be a bust. I did not need to worry any this year. Everything went off without a hitch.
Well, here it is the day before our Christmas service. Tomorrow I will lead the choir in 4-special Christmas hymns that we have been working on for the past 3-months. Two of the selections, Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee, and I Call Him Lord, we were already familiar with, as we have sang them before. The other two, I'm Glad I Know Who Jesus Is, and Redeeming Love, were both new to the choir. I am really pleased at how well they have learned them. We have already sang the last two for choir specials over the past 2-weeks so they are definitely ready to do them.
If you have never been to a drive-thru-nativity before, you will want to make sure and take your family out. It will be something that you will never forget. They use live animals and real people in each of the different scenes. I took my family to see it last year and everyone was amazed at the detail and size of this spectacular display. Today while shopping at the Book Warehouse on Merchants Rd., I stumbled across an excellent buy. Right there on the rack of Christmas music was Won by One's 'Ring Those Golden Bells' CD. And, best of all, it was only $3.99! You can't beat that with a stick!
As soon as I got back in my vehicle, I ripped the shrink wrap off and popped that thing in the CD player. From the opening of 'Carol of the Bells,' to the ending of 'How Great Thou Art,' I was thoroughly delighted. Of course the lineup of singers in the group at the time this project was recorded, was the very best; Greg Shockley, Clayton Inman, David Jenkins, and Bob Caldwell. It doesn't get any better than that!

Make plans now to pack the family up in the car and drive out to Rutledge Pike Missionary Baptist church in Corryton, for their 12th annual Drive-thru Nativity. This will be held on December 14th and 15th, beginning at 7 pm both nights. There is no admission fee.
