Wolves in Southern Gospel sheep's clothing
Matthew 7: 15- 20 (KJV):
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
This post is to address something that has really been bothering me concerning the Southern Gospel music scene.
There are several websites and blogs here on the World Wide Web, that proclaim to be "Christian." They are designed to draw folks in by offering news and information about our favorite Southern Gospel groups and performers. Lots of them have some great information, however, be aware of making comments on any of the articles. I learned the hard way that what you might think is a great comment, can be used to kindle the fire inside of bitter, hate filled, un-Christian like folks. They will cease the opportunity to hide behind an anonymous name and secure firewall to spew their hurtful message. They want to tear other people down. They want to belittle other folks. They are wolves in sheep's clothing. Please be aware of these folks and be very careful of which sites you read and comment on. I assure you, any comments made on this blog that I feel are out of place, will be deleted just as quickly as I can hit the del key. I really don't care if anyone ever leaves a comment. I am just here to try and share a little information about the Knoxville Gospel music scene.
Let me leave you with the below Bible scripture from 1 Thessalonians 5: 11-23: (KJV)
11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
12 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings.
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
